Shaughnessy Tudor Residence
Located in Vancouver’s storied Shaughnessy neighborhood, this Tudor-style home required a complete transformation to balance its historical appeal with the needs of a young family. The project included a full gut renovation and a foundational addition to improve the livability of the closed-off, compartmentalized floor plan. Keeping within the heritage aesthetic of the area, we opened up the layout to create better flow and visibility, ideal for a family with small children, while preserving the home’s character.

Drawing on the vibrant work of Bobbie Burgers, touches of cheerful blues and yellows bring a modern energy to the classic setting. To further enhance the natural light and make the space feel bright year- round, reflective surfaces were used strategically on millwork and in key areas throughout. These vibrant touches bring warmth and playfulness to a design rooted in timeless appeal, ensuring the home feels welcoming and full of life.

A respectful revival of Tudor elegance, crafted for modern family life.
Practicality was a priority for this family-friendly space. Durable materials and thoughtful design elements ensure that the home can handle the bustle of everyday life. Functional storage and built-ins help keep the main living areas organized, while designated spaces for play, work, and relaxation offer something for every family member. The result is a home that respects its historic roots yet embraces the vibrant, modern needs of a growing family.
